Run a Generator safely
Recently, a 20-year-old boy electrocuted while running a generator at home in Karachi. However, there must be many cases that are not highlighted as the generator is a source of endangering lives because of the poisonous gas (Carbon mono oxide) it contains that can cause fire and electrocution.
Follow these directions to run a generator safely:
- Keep the generator dry and not use it in rain or wet conditions. Operate it on a dry surface.
- Do not touch the generator with wet hands.
- Be sure to turn the generator off and let it cool down before refueling to prevent fire.
Adopt these precautions to save lives, as load shedding in Pakistan has increased rapidly; hence, generators use.
