Man electrocuted by solar panels’ wiring in Kot Addu
KOT ADDU: A man was electrocuted after touching the solar panel wires to run the tubewell in Noor Shah Tali area of Kot Addu in Punjab province.
According to reports, the victim Muhammed Tanvir, aged 40, son of Elahi Bakhsh, was connecting the wires of the solar system to run the tubewell when he received an electric shock and fainted.
Locals contacted the rescue officials who performed CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) but could not restore his breathing and he was pronounced dead.
It was further reported that villagers were unaware of the electricity in the solar power system and presumed that it would not have electric current received through poles and transmission wires.
This is the second incident of death with solar panels in the district in recent days. Earlier last month, a young man lost his life due to electrocution by a solar system wire in Jatoi tehsil of Muzaffargarh.
According to reports, the victim Amjad, a resident of a village in Jatoi police station, was on his way when the incident occurred. He received an electric shock from a cable of the solar system and died on the spot.
Rescue 1122 team rushed to the site and found the man dead. Local people arrived and shifted his body to the hospital which was then handed over to the family. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
